Jeffrey Stone Joins Board of Directors at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif.—Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford has announced the appointment of Jeffrey E. Stone to its Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2024.

Jeffrey Stone has been a partner at McDermott Will & Emery since 1991, and for seven years served as the law firm’s chairman. Prior to his tenure at McDermott, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago.

“We are fortunate to have Jeffrey join our board of directors,” said Jonathan Coslet, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. “Along with his experience as a lawyer, he has long-standing ties to Stanford, including as a former member of the board of trustees, and continues to hold a variety of leadership and volunteer roles within the university. His insights will be invaluable to our board and leadership team.”

Stone served on the University Board of Trustees from 2018 to 2023. He is a co-founder and co-chair of the Stanford LEAD Council, a program to help identify and nurture future Stanford leaders. He currently serves on the Stanford University Bing Overseas Studies Program Council, as a member of the Stanford Committee on Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias, and served for many years on the Undergraduate Education Advisory Council. In 2016, Stone received the Gold Spike Award from Stanford University, the university’s highest alumni award. He is also the inaugural recipient of the Stanford Medal and has received three Stanford Associates Awards of Merit.

Stone holds a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School and earned a bachelor’s degree with honors and distinction in international relations from Stanford University.
