  • "I treat every patient as if they were a member of my own family."

People often ask me how many children I have: two biological ones and thousands of others I care for. My patients are part of my family; it's a concept I've embraced since I started my career many years ago.

In pediatric surgery, many parents are giving their child over to someone else's care for the first time. It's an extreme honor when parents trust me. My promise to them is that I will treat their child exactly how I would treat my own.

As a child I played a lot of sports. With sports came injuries, so I spent my fair share of time in hospitals and doctors' offices. I was inspired by the ability of physicians and nurses to help me get back on the field. That made me want to join the field of medicine and quite frankly I'm a big kid. My love for working with children and my interest in medicine makes pediatric surgery the perfect job for me.
