Sarina Behera, MD

  • Sarina Kumari Behera
  • “My promise to parents is to really be there with them every step of the way.”

I've always wanted to be a pediatrician. I love working with children, because you get to follow your patients for a lifetime.

When children are born with a heart defect, its a medical problem completely independent from anything they have done — they have had no role in their disease. For families, this is an extremely challenging time.

I try to be very approachable, easy to talk to, and supportive of families as they face these challenges. I have children of my own, so I understand what its like to be a parent. I am very honest with parents; it's important to be someone that families can trust. The best part of my job is seeing a child who has gotten through a difficult period and is now doing really great, running around like any other kid. My promise to parents is to really be there with them every step of the way, to make sure they never feel alone, and have them know that someone is always watching out for their child.
