Stanford Children’s Health Pediatric Innovation Showcase

This event will bring together researchers, clinicians and industry experts to explore the innovative pediatric technologies being developed at Stanford Children’s Health. Attendees will also learn about resources and processes centered on innovation, including how to disclose and protect new inventions.

The event will feature a panel of pediatric health entrepreneurs who will address the challenges of commercializing innovations in maternal and child health. Vasum Peiris, MD, MPH, FAAP, FAAC, FASE, chief medical officer of pediatrics and special populations for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), will be the keynote speaker. He will discuss the strategic direction of the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) and the current state of pediatric medical device development.

The event will conclude with an innovation technology showcase where individuals with novel technologies in a variety of stages from prototype to finished product will pitch their ideas to those in attendance. After these presentations, attendees can interact directly with these innovations and meet the people behind them.
