She graduated from Armijo High School, where she was the valedictorian of her class, and went on to earn a BS in biology at UC Davis. After finishing medical school at St. George’s Medical School in the West Indies, she married and moved back to California for her residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Basi started working for Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics Group in 2007. She is proud to have a positive impact on her patients and families. When not at work, she enjoys dancing, badminton and spending time with her family.

Christine Buchanan, MD, is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Christine Buchanan grew up in California and received a degree in biology from UC Santa Cruz. She spent some time working then went back to medical school, and was drawn to pediatrics because she loves caring for mothers and children. Her professional interests include newborn care, working with adolescents, and helping parents with the transition into raising a family. When not at work, Dr. Buchanan loves to be outside in nature, hiking, gardening and traveling.

V. Anthony Chiong, MD, is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. V. Anthony Chiong joined Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics Group in 2001. He has a special interest in treating kids with sports-related issues, including asthma. He uses his interests in travel and sports to engage with his patients on a personal level. He approaches patient care as a privilege and feels that being able to contribute to children’s lives and well-being makes pediatrics the best job he could ask for.

Johnette Leikam, MD, is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Johnette Leikam grew up in Visalia, California. After finishing medical school at the University of Texas at Houston, she returned to California to complete her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital Oakland. Upon completing the program, she moved to the Tri-Valley region and joined Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics Group in 1986, and she has stayed here for her entire pediatric career. Her professional interests include adolescent medicine, eating disorders and treating all the kids that come through the practice. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, crafts, traveling, skiing and — most importantly — spending time with her husband and adult children.

Lara Lembach, MD, is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Lara Lembach has been with Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics Group since 1998. She attended medical school at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, where she graduated third in her class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Lembach currently lives in the Tri-Valley region with her husband and two children and is active in her community. In her spare time, Dr. Lembach enjoys reading, art, spending time with her family, traveling and hiking.

Staci Sampo, RN, CPNP, IBCLC, is a certified registered nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner. Staci Sampo worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital Oakland for eight years and joined Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics Group in 1999. Her professional interests include nutrition, asthma and breastfeeding. After realizing there was a need for breastfeeding support of new moms and babies in her practice, Staci became a lactation counselor, and in 2002 she became an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant. When she is not working, Staci enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Alison Werne, MD, is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Alison Werne is living her dream of being a pediatrician. During medical school, she had the opportunity to practice in all areas of medicine, both surgical and non-surgical, and she knew that pediatrics was where she could make the biggest difference. Throughout her education, she received academic awards of excellence, including being elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduating with honors. Dr. Werne has worked for Livermore Pleasanton San Ramon Pediatrics Group since 2003, and her professional interests include asthma and developmental pediatrics. She is married with two children and believes being a mother has made her a more empathetic pediatrician.
