The Special Care Nursery at Sequoia Hospital is a six-bed intermediate intensive care (Level II) nursery owned and operated by Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. We provide a full range of services for newborns who require non-critical, specialized care and hospitalization due to various conditions, including:
- Suspected infections
- Respiratory problems
- Suspected heart problems. We can perform heart ultrasounds that are examined by Packard Children's Hospital Stanford cardiologists in Palo Alto (Tele-echo service ). Cardiology consultation services are also available.
Our neonatology team also oversees the stabilization of newborns requiring transfer to the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto.
