A helpful environment

A family space to educate, work, and relax

Family Resource Center

The Family Resource Center, also called the FRC, is a comfortable place to go for support and resources. Families can go there to relax, work in the business center, and get different resources they may need while they are in the hospital

While your child is a patient at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, you can use any of these services at the Family Resource Center:

  • Talk with parent mentors at the Parent’s Place.
  • Work in a semiprivate office.
  • Access the internet and computers.
  • Print, fax, or scan any documents you need.
  • Check out books from the Library.
  • Enjoy a free hot beverage.
  • Get personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, and laundry items.

A Family Resource Center coordinator is available if you have any questions.

Parent's Place
Located within the Family Resource Center, Parent’s Place is a quiet space for caregivers to connect with parent mentors. Mentors can provide peer support, help caregivers partner with the health care team, understand available resources, and work through challenges—like learning to use MyChart. Two mentors are always on hand: one Spanish-speaking mentor and one who supports families of children with disabilities.

Parent’s Place is in the Family Resource Center Classroom, Main building, G20.
Hours: Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

All Caregivers are welcome!
