Lodging and Housing Assistance

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford has a housing hotline to assist out-of-town families arrange accommodations close to the hospital.  Lodging information and placement services are available whether your family needs a single night of lodging or many months. The Housing Office is staffed Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 6:30pm PST.  The office is closed weekends and all holidays. Calls to the Housing Office during off-hours are returned the next business day.
The Housing Office works directly with patient's families to ensure the best possible accommodations.  When families call the Housing Office hotline they are provided with helpful information regarding:

  • Ronald McDonald House - Ronald McDonald House® is the cornerstone charity of Ronald McDonald House Charities®. Ronald McDonald House at Stanford provides a "home-away-from-home" and support for the families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. As medical treatments evolve, more and more of the ill children stay at the House as outpatients while receiving treatment. Ronald McDonald House provides a haven these families can call home, allowing them to give their ill child complete attention and support.

  • Hotels with a Heart, discounted hotel rooms - Hotels with a Heart is a program that places parents whose children are suffering from life-threatening illnesses in hotels on a complimentary basis. There are currently 33 area hotels participating in this program. Families are selected for placement based upon financial need and distance traveled. This program is designed to help those who need it the very most.

  • Homes with a Heart, community host homes - The Homes with a Heart Program was established to provide temporary housing, when the Ronald McDonald House is full, to family members of children who are receiving treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. The program brings families of patients from out of town together with volunteer hosts who live near the Hospital.
