Conditions We Treat

At the Pediatric Movement Disorder Clinic, we treat children who have difficulty controlling their movements.

These conditions include:

  • Ataxia or coordination problems
  • Bradykinesia or slow movement
  • Chorea or irregular movements of the face and limbs that cannot be controlled
  • Dystonia or muscle contractions that cannot be controlled
  • Myoclonus or quick muscle jerks that cannot be controlled
  • Spasticity or stiff muscles
  • Tics or unusual movements or sounds over which the patient may have little or no control. In certain instances, tics can also be classified as Tourette Syndrome.
  • Tremors or a rhythmic shaking that cannot be controlled
