Respiratory Allergies

We treat children with respiratory allergies and asthma, including exercise-induced asthma and acute or chronic allergies that affect the airways.

We treat children with chronic upper respiratory conditions such as sinusitis and host defense defects resulting in recurrent or chronic respiratory infections such as immune deficiencies and ciliary abnormalities.

Our team is also working with equipment manufacturers to develop the latest, state-of-the-art diagnostic and testing equipment, including lung imaging (high resolution, ultra fast CT scanning).

Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) is an infection caused by a fungus that produces illness only in people who have pre-existing asthma or cystic fibrosis. Our team has special expertise in identifying and treating this condition. ABPA commonly complicates chronic lung diseases such as asthma and cystic fibrosis.

The Allergy Reference Laboratory uses state of the art methods to test blood samples for evidence of allergies to inhalants, foods, drugs and other substances, and tests for selected immune deficiencies on children of any age.
