Conditions We Treat

Our team focuses on treating the full range of pediatric sleep issues, and we will work with your family to develop a solution that will work for your child’s unique needs.

The conditions we treat include:

  • Sleep-disordered breathing (obstructive sleep apnea, primary snoring, noisy breathing).
  • Apnea of infancy.
  • Asthma and nocturnal cough.
  • Apparent-life-threatening-event (ALTE), brief periods when infants appear to stop breathing.
  • Chronic lung disease.
  • Central sleep apnea.
  • Obesity hypoventilation syndrome, a condition in which there is too much carbon dioxide and not enough oxygen in the blood.
  • Behavioral problems (bedtime struggles, night wakings).
  • Behavioral and cognitive problems that may be worsened by sleep apnea, such as ADHD.
  • Upper airway resistance syndrome, when the soft tissue in the throat relaxes and limits airflow during sleep.
  • Restless leg syndrome, or an uncontrollable urge to move the legs.
  • Rhythmic movement disorders (periodic limb movement disorder, head banging).
  • Epilepsy or other seizures that may be influenced by nocturnal respiratory problems.
  • Circadian rhythm disorders and sleep schedule abnormalities.
  • Restless sleep.
  • Parasomnias (sleepwalking, confusional arousal, sleep terrors, bed wetting and nightmares).
  • Narcolepsy and hypersomnia (excessive sleepiness) not due to narcolepsy.
