  • “I take a focused approach to alleviating illness.”

When I started medical school, my plan was to go into research. Then I had two babies in medical school, and I discovered I enjoyed pediatrics. I take a focused approach to alleviating illness. For general care, I use a comprehensive evaluation of data and physical examination to help advise the patient and family on measures to maintain and improve well-being.

I remember once a frantic mother called to tell me her 2-year-old daughter had developed a breast tumor after the mother had left for work that morning. Reassuring her over the phone that breast tumors don't arise that quickly was futile, so I met the family in the emergency room, where I observed that the healthy-appearing child did indeed have a growth on her chest. As I examined her, the unmistakable odor of bubble gum was evident. A little acetone, and I had cured the breast tumor. Pediatrics is filled with memorable moments like these, and it's a pleasure to be able to help children through health, illness and even bubble-gum incidents.
