Kevin Chan, PharmD, MBA, MS

Dr. Chan received his Bachelor of Science and Arts degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. He also received his Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Pharmacy from Texas A&M University-College Station, and Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. During his time in pharmacy school, he worked as a hospital pharmacy intern at Christus Spohn Health System. He completed his fourth-year rotations at various hospitals in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX including Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston Methodist Hospital, Memorial Hermann Health System, and Harris Health System. He worked as a staff pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy for a year prior to completing his PGY1 pharmacy residency at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake in Webster, TX. His professional interests include sterile compounding and supply chain management, executive leadership, and finance. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys eating out, watching various streaming services, practicing Taekwondo, and spending time with his Shiba Inu at the park.

Jillian Connolly, PharmD
PGY2 Pediatric Resident

Dr. Connolly received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. During her time in pharmacy school, she worked as an intern in multiple settings including independent retail pharmacy and inpatient at an academic medical center serving both adult and pediatric patients. She completed her fourth-year clinical rotations in the Boston area at Boston Children’s Hospital, Lahey Health, Walgreens, Northeastern University, and Lynn Community Health Center. Dr. Connolly recently completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. Her professional interests include neonatal and pediatric critical care, solid organ transplantation, and preventative health. In her spare time, Jillian enjoys spending time with her co-residents, exploring new restaurants and breweries, skiing, reading, and baking desserts.

Esther Esadah, PharmD, MS
PGY2 Infectious Diseases Resident

Dr. Esadah received her Doctor of Pharmacy, and Masters in Science Degree from the University of Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. During her time in pharmacy school, she worked as a pharmacy intern at Rite Aid pharmacies. Esther tailored her fourth-year rotations to research, inpatient and outpatient care which were completed at John R. Oishei Childrens Hospital, Montefiore Medical Center, RXVIP, Duane Reade, and the pharmaceutical sciences department at UB all in New York State. Esther completed her PGY1 year at University of Pittsburg Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is currently the PGY2 Pharmacy Resident in Infectious Diseases. In her spare time, Esther enjoys trying new food places, hiking, and spending time with family.

Elizabeth Vadasz, PharmD
PGY2 Critical Care Resident

Dr. Vadasz received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Northern Arizona University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arizona. During pharmacy school, she worked as an inpatient pharmacy intern at Phoenix Children's Hospital (PCH). She completed her fourth-year clinical rotations in the Phoenix area at Banner University Medical Center, Mayo Clinic Hospital, and PCH. She recently completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and has stayed on as the PGY2 critical care pharmacy resident. Her professional interests include neonatal and pediatric critical care, as well as nutrition. In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys running, crocheting, exploring new places, and spending time with her family, which includes her three pets.

Joepfrey Miguel Alvarez, PharmD

Dr. Alvarez obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2022. During pharmacy school, he worked as a pharmacy intern for CVS and later as a pharmacy intern at SSM Health DePaul in Missouri. He completed his fourth year clinical rotations in Illinois and Missouri at Springfield Memorial,  HSHS St. Elizabeth’s, Belleville Memorial, and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. His professional interests include pediatric cardiovascular critical care, nutrition, and infectious disease. He enjoys exercising, cooking, playing bass guitar, or hiking. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and meeting new people. 

Jafar Essayli, PharmD

Dr. Essayli received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California. During his time in pharmacy school, he was a pharmacy intern in the inpatient and specialty outpatient pharmacies at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. As a fourth-year pharmacy school student, he completed his clinical rotations at Huntington Hospital, VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Kaiser Permanente Pasadena, USC School of Pharmacy, and St. John’s Community Health.  His professional interests include general pediatrics and academia. During his free time, Jafar enjoys exploring new coffee and tea shops, cooking, watching travel vlogs, trying new restaurants, and ice skating.

Diana Garnica, PharmD

Dr. Garnica received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from University of California, Los Angeles, then headed across town to complete her Doctor of Pharmacy at University of Southern California. As a pharmacy student she worked as both an inpatient intern at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA and as an outpatient intern at CVS Pharmacy in Fullerton, CA. She completed her fourth year clinical rotations at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, USC Keck Hospital, LAC+USC Medical Center, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, and Neurocrine Biosciences. Her professional interests include administration, critical care, and general pediatrics. Diana enjoys spending time with friends and family, finding new places to eat, traveling, reading, and binging the latest reality TV shows.

Daniel Trisno, PharmD

Dr. Trisno received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. During his time as a pharmacy student, he was a pharmacy intern at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the pediatric department. He completed his fourth year clinical rotations at the University of Maryland Medical Center, University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, and Maryland Poison Center. His professional interests include infectious disease, pediatric intensive care, and academia. In his free time, Daniel enjoys exercising, hiking, playing piano, and cooking.

Kristin Willins, PharmD

Dr. Willins received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Riverside and her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Chapman University. She has worked in various pharmacy settings including home infusion and retail. She completed her fourth year clinical rotations in Southern California at Mission Hospital, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and MemorialCare Long Beach. Her professional interests include transitions of care, oncology, infectious disease, and academia. In her spare time, Kristin enjoys yoga, snowboarding, and trying to re-create her favorite restaurant meals from scratch. She also enjoys spending time with her cat, Stormi, who has extra toes on all four feet.
