Overview

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford partners with El Camino Hospital in Mountain View to provide inpatient care for pediatric patients.

The Packard at El Camino (PEC) Unit is a 24-bed satellite unit of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. The General Pediatric Service at PEC offers comprehensive care for a variety of general pediatric illnesses. We also provide hematology-oncology and inpatient eating disorder services through our Divisions of Hematology-Oncology and Adolescent Medicine, respectively.

The care provided at PEC is multidisciplinary and draws from the expertise of on-site Pediatric Hospitalists from Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (present 24 hours a day), specialized pediatric nursing staff, pharmacists, dieticians, child life specialists, social workers, and case managers, all in a child-friendly, intimate environment.

We strive to provide exceptional patient- and family-centered care by partnering with patients and families on daily bedside family centered rounds, emphasizing communication throughout the hospitalization, and coordinating with primary care physicians to ensure a seamless transition of care.
