With our Pediatric Intestinal Transplant Program, the only such program in Northern California, we are a respected leader in providing comprehensive care for pediatric intestinal transplants. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford has one of only three programs on the West Coast. We’ve performed more than 50 pediatric intestinal transplants since our program’s inception, maintaining a 100% three-year success rate since 2014, according to data gathered by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR).
When your child needs intestinal transplant, our large team of multidisciplinary experts works together to provide a detailed plan that uses advanced surgical techniques, skilled infection prevention, personalized treatment, and timely placement on the transplant waiting list to significantly improve your wait for transplant and your child’s lifelong outcomes.
Our Pediatric Transplant Center is recognized across the nation for our high volumes, research discoveries, innovations, and clinical outcomes. We continue to build upon more than 30 years of experience with an integrated approach to make sure your child has a personalized plan of care leading to a successful transplant. By caring for your child before, during, and after transplant, we help your child in living his or her best life.
We excel at handling the toughest challenges, taking pride in offering transplants to children of all ages with serious abdominal conditions, even those who’ve heard that they have few or no options:
We bring pediatric specialists and subspecialists together to customize your child’s care team, with your family at the center:
Many of our patients live outside our region. To make it easier on families, our transplant team travels to several outreach clinics to provide care multiple times a year, a service unique to Stanford Children’s Health:
