Neuro-Ophthalmology Research and Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate a new medical approach, device, drug, or other treatment, and at the Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinic, our patients have access to the latest, most advanced clinical trials and research at the Stanford School of Medicine.

Dr. Shannon Beres is interested in understanding and treating complex conditions at the intersections of ophthalmology, immunology, oncology and neurology. She is part of multi-site studies for pediatric optic neuritis, or inflammation of the optic nerve that often occurs for immune-related reasons, as well as optic pathway gliomas, or tumors of the vision system.

You can find a list of many of our clinical trials at Stanford Ophthalmology, and trials related to cancerous conditions can be found at Stanford Oncology. Alternately, the Stanford School of Medicine provides a complete list of pediatric clinical trials
