  • “The most rewarding thing for me is the long-term relationships I build with families.”

I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. My earliest memory is of when I was 3 years old and I was a doctor for all my dolls. For me, becoming a pediatrician was a clear career path. I never thought of doing anything else.

When I walk into a room, I always get down at eye level with the child. I want them to be comfortable coming to see me. When you make care kid-centric, they respond. By the time they are 18 months of age, I want to be bonded with them. I want them to recognize my face and voice as belonging to the person who will nurture them.

The most rewarding thing for me is the long-term relationships I build with families. I’m so closely involved with parents and their children that I end up feeling like a member of the family. Knowing children for 18 or 20 years is an amazing feeling.
