Salinas Valley Health
Stanford Medicine Children’s Health has had a strong affiliation and partnership with the Norman P. Andresen, MD, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Salinas Valley Health since the NICU’s opening in January 2001. The NICU is complemented by a Perinatal Diagnostic Center, with Stanford Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians providing a full range of diagnostic, treatment, consultation, and genetic counseling services to pregnant women. Salinas Valley Health and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health are linked via high-speed audio/video network, which provides perinatal diagnostic services for high-risk pregnancies and enables our neonatologists to securely transmit images to specialists at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health. With two-way, real-time video and audio communications, the physicians confer on the best course of care for each tiny patient. The technological capabilities allow more families to receive care for their infants while staying close to home.
