Athlete Development Series

Young athletes aren’t just small adults—their growing bodies demand specialized training and care. The Athlete Development Series is a sports development and performance program grounded in pediatric medicine. Every component is designed and reviewed by a team of experts in pediatric sports medicine, including doctors, physical therapists, athletic trainers and strength and conditioning specialists. The focus is on enhancing young athlete development in an effective and safe environment.

Drop-In Sessions: June-July 2017

Throughout the year, the Athlete Development Series provides a variety of drop-in sessions. Athletes eager to improve in a specific skill, like speed and agility, can drop in to one of our clinics focused on increasing performance. The sessions are hour-long small-group classes held at Patelco Sports Complex in Pleasanton. Most sessions address both performance enhancement and injury prevention.

Bridge Program: Starting Fall 2017

Most major orthopedic injuries are treated with physical therapy to return the athlete to normal function. This program is designed to bridge the gap between normal function and sports readiness. Training programs are custom designed and include a consultation with an athletic trainer and physical therapist, strength training, speed and agility development and sport-specific skills. Athletes will run through an assessment and then be trained in one-on-one or small group hour-long classes. Registration opens soon – please check back.

Performance Program: Starting Fall 2017

Athletic development progresses differently in each young person.  This program is designed to address each athlete’s unique needs, customized to focus on specific weaknesses to improve strength. After a consultation with an athletic trainer, athletes will run through an assessment and then be trained in one-on-one or small group hour-long classes. Registration opens soon – please check back.
