  • “My job as a pediatrician is to give parents the tools and confidence to take care of their kids themselves.”

Growing up, I was the neighborhood babysitter and would often end up helping kids with their homework. I had a few part-time teaching and tutoring jobs and thought I would become a teacher, but I also loved science. Before we were married, my husband said to me, "Hey you should try being a doctor." It's the perfect job for me because I get to merge my love of science with my passion for educating families and helping patients.

There are a million different ways to be a parent. There's no one right way. The right way is the way that fits your family. I realize there's the real world and then there's the book world. You try to figure out what works best for your family. My job as a pediatrician is to give parents the tools and confidence to take care of their kids themselves. I offer parents all the options available to them so that they can make the best choice for their family. There is no greater feeling than when we are all on the same page, contributing to the well-being of their child.
