Two New Members Join Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford’s Board of Directors

For release: September 1, 2021

STANFORD, Calif. — Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford recently appointed business executives Anthony Noto and Jennifer Mulloy to its Board of Directors.

Noto is the chief executive officer of SoFi, a digital personal finance company. Prior to SoFi, Noto served as both chief financial officer (CFO) and chief operating officer (COO) at Twitter. A graduate of the United States Military Academy West Point, he received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mulloy is currently a managing director at TA Associates, where she has worked for over 20 years. She holds various leadership roles and focuses on investing in health care companies. Mulloy is a graduate of Stanford University and earned her MBA from Harvard Business School. Jeffrey Chambers, board chair, welcomes the unique perspectives that Noto and Mulloy bring to the board. Both Noto’s and Mulloy’s appointments begin Sept. 1.

“Jennifer’s career focus on growing health care organizations makes her an ideal fit with our board’s objectives,” Chambers said. “Anthony’s vast and impressive experience in top leadership positions for renowned companies is a great asset to the board.”

After a lustrous career in banking that resulted in the position of CFO and COO at Twitter, Anthony Noto was recruited to join SoFi as chief executive officer in 2018. Over just a few short years, Noto has expanded SoFi’s base, supported the launch of several new business lines, and taken the company public.

Noto’s career is impressive. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1999 and quickly became a top analyst, managing director, and eventually a partner. In his final years with the company, he served as managing director and co-head of its Global Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) Investment Banking Group.

One of his top clients at Goldman Sachs was Twitter, which recruited him to become their CFO in 2014. A few years later, he also acquired the position of COO. During his years at Twitter, Noto spearheaded major business deals, pushed for bold acquisitions, and helped mold Twitter’s marketing strategy, including a boost in livestreaming.

As a past linebacker for West Point, Noto has a love for football, inspiring him to serve as the CFO of the National Football League (NFL) prior to his tenure at Twitter. Noto also sits on the board of Franklin Templeton, Penn Athletics, Stanford Athletics, West Point Alumni, and the Sacred Heart School Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Kristin, live in San Francisco and have five children.

For the past 23 years, Jennifer Mulloy has been a strong asset at TA Associates, a leading global growth private equity firm based in Menlo Park, with offices in Boston, London, Mumbai, Hong Kong, and Silicon Valley. She holds the position of managing director and also is a member of TA’s Executive and Management Committees, Menlo Park Office head, and co-head of the North America Healthcare Group.

Her current successes are a direct result of her acumen at investing in growing health care companies. Mulloy has invested across a broad spectrum of health care companies throughout her time at TA, including health care technology, specialty managed care, consumer-directed health care, multisite health care facilities, physician partnership models, specialty distribution, and generic pharmaceuticals.

A natural leader, Mulloy has a long history of serving on boards, many with a health or medical focus. Currently, she sits on the boards of Behavioral Health Works, Edifecs, Healix, and Navia Benefit Solutions. Mulloy also is a board member of the Menlo School in Menlo Park, where she and her husband, Corey, reside along with their three children, all of whom were born at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.
