“I bond with families to give children their best future.”

My Approach

As a doctor, I truly believe that the only way to achieve exceptional results is by forming a strong partnership with my patients and their families. When deciding on an effective treatment plan, I work closely with children and their families to balance the most up-to-date medical evidence with their needs, goals, and values. A child is so much more than their disease, and I strive to treat the whole child. I am very much interested in listening and learning about each child—their interests, passions, and goals—and empowering them to manage their condition and live their best life.

My personal experience with ulcerative colitis motivated me to care for children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Our IBD Center uses a team approach to provide leading-edge and family-centered care. My experience with patients informs my laboratory’s research on how the lining of the gut interacts with the immune system. Through research we hope to help solve unmet care needs and meaningfully improve the lives of children everywhere with IBD.
