My Approach

I have always wanted to care for children with cancer or a blood disease—that’s how I chose where to go to grad school and how I picked my advisor.

These families are going through such an acute change. They are moving along one trajectory and then they get a diagnosis and everything changes overnight. I am honored to help families and kids cope and adjust to that sudden change.

Kids are so resilient, and many of them do so well during treatment, so it’s really important to me that we provide them with the tools and support they need to get through this really hard process of treatment and come out healthy, resilient, well-adjusted humans on the other side.

I feel very lucky to be able to partner with families when they’re going through a really hard time and support them through that unique and difficult experience. Even when treatment doesn’t go the way we want, just to be able to be there and support them is such a privilege.
