"I appreciate the multigenerational impact that pediatrics allows me to have."

My Approach

I have always considered myself a lifelong learner. Coming from a family of teachers, I was drawn to the idea of working with children. Pursuing a career in medicine felt like a natural fit. Pediatrics offers a unique opportunity for continuous learning. I learn from the kids, I learn from the parents, I learn from the physiology and the medicine of children, so I love that. But more than anything, I appreciate the multigenerational impact that pediatrics allows me to have; that’s a satisfaction that you can’t get anywhere else.

It's a huge privilege to take care of the most precious thing in families’ lives, which is their children. That motivates me every single day. I always look at it from the perspective of what I would want to do if this were my child; it’s my guiding light. The connection that you make with these kids from birth is so important.

The development of children and families—academically, socially, and emotionally—is a huge motivator. No matter what it is, regular well care, prematurity learning differences, neurodivergence, or significant illness, I want the parents and families to feel heard.
