A new smile for Pancho

During a routine ultrasound at 20 weeks, Zeb and his wife were shocked to learn their growing baby had a bi-lateral cleft lip. The couple spent the following weeks worried and wondering how they would care for a baby with this condition – which occurs when tissues of the mouth or lip don’t form properly when a baby is developing in the womb.

Cleft and Craniofacial Center fosters patient’s dream to entertain

Mathias Dizon, 10, practiced for weeks to fulfill a promise he had made to his doctors and nurses at the Stanford Children’s Health Cleft and Craniofacial Center: to sing the national anthem at the center’s annual patient and family picnic every year until he goes to college.
