The expert members of our Spina Bifida Team are leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of neural tube defects and the associated conditions. They are specialists in the following areas:

Neurosurgery

	Cormac Maher, MD, is the Division Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery. He is a Professor of Neurosurgery at the Stanford University Medical Center. Area of expertise: brain tumors, chiari malformation, craniosynostosis, hydrocephalus, spasticity, congenital malformations of the brain and spine, spina bifida, spine tumors, tethered cord syndrome
	Kelly Mahaney, MD, is board certified in neurological surgery and pediatric neurosurgery. Area of expertise: neurosurgery
	Laura Prolo, MD, PhD, is a pediatric neurosurgeon who specializes in treating children with craniosynostosis, brain tumors, and congenital disorders. Area of expertise: neurosurgery
	Stephanie Choi, RN, MS, CPNP-BC, is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner. Area of expertise: neurosurgery
