My Approach

As a pediatric and congenital cardiothoracic surgeon, I care for patients with heart conditions present at birth—from newborns and children to adults who were born with congenital heart disease.

In the operating room, my approach focuses on precision, careful surgical planning, and techniques that preserve heart function whenever possible. I tailor every surgical strategy to the individual patient, always considering both immediate safety and long-term outcomes.

I also believe that families are essential members of the care team. I prioritize clear communication so parents and caregivers understand their child’s condition, treatment options, and recovery. Working closely with our multidisciplinary Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center team, my goal is to deliver the safest and most effective care while helping children grow into healthy, active adults.

Through my work in both California and Hawaiʻi, I am also committed to expanding access to specialized congenital heart care for families across the Pacific region.
