  • “My goal has always been to make a difference in people's lives.”

I love science and I love working with people, so medicine is the perfect career for me. My goal has always been to make a difference in people's lives. After college, I had a very meaningful experience working at an orphanage in India. I loved working with the children, their joy and candor, and that confirmed my decision.

With medicine, I have the chance to help a young person choose a path toward a more healthy and happy life. When I work with families, I strive to provide the best possible evidence-based care while also keeping the individual needs of the family in mind. I love that my career allows me to work with families from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Over the years, they have taught me so much; I feel it is important to listen to and respect their perspectives even when they differ from my own. My two children also have taught me a lot about what it's like down in the trenches as a parent. It's a different world at 3 a.m. with a 3-week-old, and I want my families to know I understand.
