Cardiovascular Connective Tissue Research and Outcomes

Several physicians in our program have conducted authoritative research on connective tissue disorders and related aortic disorders. Our patients are welcome to join ongoing clinical research studies. Common study topics include developing advancements in surgical techniques, neurodevelopment, and cognitive outcomes.

Our pediatric heart surgery outcomes are second to none. In 2019 we performed more than 1,100 heart surgeries on-site and at our partner hospitals, significantly more than some of our peer hospitals. For you and your child, this means that our medical team sees a wider range of heart problems and can provide better care than pediatric heart surgeons who perform only a handful of procedures per year. Our pediatric heart surgeons not only perform more surgeries but also often obtain better results than other peer hospitals as well, despite treating highly complex cases.

We are also nationally known for our exceptional heart transplant outcomes. Our pediatric heart transplant program is consistently a top performer in the nation.
