Microtia reconstruction surgery

The microtia reconstruction surgery was performed in two stages by Mai Thy Truong, MD and Kay Chang, MD. Although he has canal stenosis with visible eardrum, CT demonstrated absent stapes and oval window atresia making him a poor candidate for canalplasty and ossicular chain reconstruction. He will be receiving OSIA implant to improve his hearing when he turns 12. The patient was so happy with his new ear he cut his hair and now prefers a short haircut
