Outreach Clinics throughout the West; Drawing patients from Across the Nation

Transplant Outreach Program

The Stanford Medicine Children’s Health Transplant Outreach Program extends our exceptional pediatric transplant and medical care to children throughout the West Coast and beyond.

Why choose us for transplant care

A great measure of a top-quality transplant center is the number of transplants it performs. Our Pediatric Transplant Center’s liver, kidney, heart, lung, and intestinal transplant teams achieve exceptional outcomes for simple to highly complex transplants, including multiorgan transplants.

Transplant Outreach Program highlights

  • Our transplant teams travel to nearly a dozen sites across California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Hawaii to bring care close to home for children needing all types of organ failure care.
  • We offer multidisciplinary research-driven care via regular in-person visits from our physicians, transplant coordinators, and social workers.
  • We partner closely with your child’s local doctor for pre- and postsurgery treatment and care management. This means that your child may only need to travel to Palo Alto for transplant surgery and immediate aftercare—receiving the majority of their pre- and posttransplant care from us near home.
  • We also provide telemedicine visits to help us manage your child’s care throughout childhood.

Why we provide an outreach program

Our Transplant Outreach Program gives more children and families access to our expert, advanced organ failure care. Through this program, we are able to save and enrich the lives of more children suffering from organ failure, which in turn helps us achieve greater volumes, outcomes, knowledge, and expertise. It also enables us to increase health equity in pediatric transplantation and helps us expand our innovative research, which improves transplant care for all children worldwide.
