Our Care Team

Amina Ahmed, MBBS

Amina Ahmed, MBBS, started her passion for medicine as a high school student when she was treated for an illness. Her admiration for her physicians inspired her to earn her medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. After her residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, she and her husband moved to the Bay Area. Dr. Ahmed is deeply interested in developmental disorders and volunteers with children who have special needs. Her interests include dance, hiking, knitting and embroidery. She also speaks Hindi and Urdu.

Marybeth Hughes, MD

Marybeth Hughes, MD, is from the local area and graduated from Prospect High School. She received her undergraduate degree in biology and her medical degree from the University of California at Davis. Her pediatric residency training was at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. She founded South Bascom Pediatrics in 2004 with Dr. Patricia Ferrari, and enjoys caring for children in her community. Outside of work she enjoys bicycling, skiing, ballroom dancing and gardening.

Christianne Strickland, MD

Christianne Strickland, MD, grew up in the Palo Alto area. She always knew that she wanted to work with children, so the choice to study pediatrics came naturally. She attended University of California, Davis, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then received her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her residency training at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Strickland joined South Bascom Pediatrics in 2009 and is thrilled to be practicing pediatrics in the Bay Area. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, baseball games, scrapbooking, traveling and spending time with her three young children.
