Video EEG

Welcome!  You have been referred to this Web site to make you and your child feel as comfortable as possible about coming to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH) for video electroencephalogram (VEEG) monitoring. A Child Life specialist will review the materials on this Web site with you via telephone. Please feel free to review the information on this site as many times as you like after today’s session.

What Is a Video Electroencephalogram (VEEG)?

Why does your doctor want you to have a video EEG? The brain sends electrical messages all through your body that make your muscles work, your heart beat and your lungs breathe. A video EEG records those messages. The VEEG will give your doctor information about how your brain is working.

Sophie's Video EEG Journal

Sophie is an LPCH patient who wanted to share her video EEG experience with others.  We thought this would be helpful for other children, so we took pictures and created Sophie's Video EEG Journal.
