Baby feet with blanket

Hearts and Hands

The Hearts and Hands volunteers are comprised of auxiliary and community members that provide direct service for patients and families across many hospital departments and partner clinics. The group creates hand-made christening gowns, knit hats, baby blankets and quilts, cough pillows, stuffed pocket pals, colorful pillowcases, and more.

Below you will find links to patterns of some of the many handmade items that Hearts and Hands creates.  Anyone interested in making something special for the children is welcome to download patterns from our collection below.

For more information about all the items made, how to label and package, and where to deliver, download the donor information sheet.

Baby blankets

In order to avoid allergic reactions, all blankets must be made with acrylic yarn. Use your favorite pattern or one of the patterns provided. Blankets can be any size. The following are just rough guidelines:
Crib blanket - 24"x 36"
Blanket - 34"x 46"
Afghans - 48"x 60"

Twist tie/fleece tied/no-sew blankets are not the preferred style of blanket accepted at LPCH. We appreciate your interest but please consider a quilt blanket option.
