Our Care Team

Dr. Uzgil grew up in Southern California, where he received his PhD in neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then came to the Bay Area to attend the University of California, San Francisco, for his residency and fellowship in pediatric neurology and pediatric epilepsy. Dr. Uzgil has devoted his career to helping children with neurological disorders, particularly epilepsy. He is also passionate about leveling access to care to reduce barriers to medical treatment for all children. In his free time, Dr. Uzgil enjoys spending time with loved ones, backpacking, skiing, and grilling.

Hazel Hiroshima grew up surrounded by doctors and nurses who inspired her to go into medicine. She graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in nursing. She spent several years working as a pediatric intensive care unit nurse while also pursuing her master’s degree in nursing at the University of California, San Francisco, specializing as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She has extensive experience in both hospital and clinic settings. She enjoys being part of a child’s journey toward a healthy future. Outside of work, she appreciates family time, cooking, and travel.
