What to Expect at Your Visit

Prior to your visit, our specialized nurse will contact you to discuss your child’s medical records, imaging studies, and any other care that your child has already received. Our team of subspecialists will then review your child’s information and coordinate additional studies that may be necessary prior to your arrival.  You may need images of the spinal cord or brain such as a MRI or you may need a renal bladder ultrasound.  Sometimes these can be done on the day of the visit; sometimes they will need to be done on a different day.

On the day of your visit, your child will have the opportunity to meet our entire team of physicians and therapists who will examine your child and answer any additional questions that you may have.

You may be seen by the whole care team including:

Your clinic visit may take 2-2.5 hours, so please bring anything you need to keep your family occupied and content for that time frame.

We have medical interpreter services available if necessary.

After the clinic our team of specialists will then meet as a group to discuss our findings and offer a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your child.  Our nurse will contact you later that week to discuss these findings and make plans for the next steps.
