If the patient is in a private room, one adult may stay the night. If the patient is in a shared room with another family, both families must approve of a guest staying overnight and inform the nurse.
There is space for one parent, guardian, or family member to stay overnight. Two parents/guardians can stay in the child’s room if the nurse gives their permission. For parents who are not able to stay with their child overnight, a social worker can help with other sleeping arrangements. Parents cannot sleep in alcoves, hallways, or open spaces due to fire code requirements.
