Kelly JohnsonParents entrust our nurses with their children’s lives, and it is our responsibility to provide the best professional nursing care possible. Professional nursing practice is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities and populations.

Our nurses at Stanford Children’s Health are masters of professional nursing practice. Their professional practice is informed by caring science and is rooted in the wisdom of an open heart which allows us to build relationships and connect with patients, families and our teams. In addition to the environment we are creating, our nurses have a commitment to innovation, leadership, mentoring, advocacy, teamwork and outstanding patient care. Our nurses practice evidence-informed professional nursing, continuously improving the care they provide. They work tirelessly to provide the best possible care to our patients and do so with dignity, respect and care that embodies kindness and compassion. I am proud to partner with such amazing nurses at Stanford Children’s Health.
