Greetings from the Parent Mentor Learning Center! As you may recall, Stanford Children’s received a grant to launch a Parent Mentor Learning Center. This Center builds on twelve years of work of the Parent Mentor Learning Collaborative, and opens up membership to all programs or persons interested in creating, or enhancing, a peer mentor program in a healthcare setting.

June 2025

Hello everyone, our collective work has paid off! I am thrilled to announce the launch of the Parent Mentor Learning Center. The Center builds on the work completed by many of you in the Parent Mentor Learning Collaborative. The Collaborative was funded by Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, and, now, LPFCH has generously provided continuation funding for the creation of a Parent Mentor Learning Center.

September 2024

For those new to our effort, the Peer Mentor Learning Collaborative (PMLC) is a group of pediatric hospitals working together over the last six years to promo peer-to-peer mentoring in health care settings. 

This summer, five Collaborative members have agreed to try-out the peer mentor e-learning/coaching program.

In this issue, we are spotlighting the P2P eLearning Platform, which offers a step-by-step guide to planning a peer mentor program or expanding an existing program. It includes downloadable templates, charts, handouts, videos and action items to help your organization develop a working plan.

April 2021

In this issue, we are spotlighting Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego. The Parent Liaison program at Rady's Children's Hospital started 25 years ago in the Peckman Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Hematology/Oncology Unit. There are six paid Parent Liaisons in four service lines. Thanks to Rady's and the other Collaborative parnters who have given their time for these spotlights.
